Health and Science Center
Mid-Plains Community College
In 2012, Wilkins ADP completed the construction of the 36,250 sf Health Science Center, a project designed to integrate natural science facilities with labs and lecture halls for EMS, medical laboratory technician, dental, and nursing programs. Eight years later, Wilkins was commissioned to expand the original building. The 11,279 sf new addition, seamlessly integrated into the east side of the 2012 structure, includes an EMS simulation room, classrooms, a nursing simulation room, conference rooms, and study areas. The building utilizes natural day lighting extensively and is heated and cooled by a geothermal wellfield. The exterior design is a pleasing blend of modern form and materials with contextually appropriate brick to weave the building into the existing campus fabric.
