Rock County High School
Renovation & Addition
This exciting project at Rock County Public School included a 2,221-square-foot addition to the north side of the building and a 5,591-square-foot interior renovation. Designed to create a more secure, functional, and future-ready environment, the project revitalized key areas of the school.
Security and function were priorities in the design. The administrative offices were relocated to a new secure entry at the front of the building, providing better visibility of incoming and outgoing traffic and enhancing overall safety. Restrooms were upgraded, replacing group facilities with seven single-use toilets for improved privacy and accessibility. Two classrooms were redesigned, one as a science lab with snorkel ventilation, and the other as a Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) room with dual kitchen labs. A common area with a concession stand improved building flow and usability. A kitchenette was also added to support the school’s student-run business, providing practical learning opportunities.
The addition was built with steel columns and beams, metal stud infill, and a brick veneer exterior. A low-slope membrane roof covers the structure, and a striking metal canopy with vertical panels highlights the main entrance. This project reflects Rock County’s commitment to innovation, student well-being, and community involvement, successfully setting the stage for a stronger future in education.
