Minden Opera House
Restoration
The historic Minden Opera House, built in the late 1800s, sits on the town square and once served as a central gathering place for community events. After sitting vacant for more than 30 years and suffering severe damage from a leaking roof, the building required significant restoration.
Wilkins ADP provided design expertise and coordinated construction schedules and site activities to bring the landmark back to life. The revitalized facility now features an art display, gallery space, gift shop, meeting rooms, a kitchen, and a welcoming main entry foyer. The opera house level was completely restructured to provide open sight lines, while the second floor houses a 287-seat production theater, a spacious reception lobby, a board room, storage, and a green room. Even the previously unexcavated basement was reclaimed to provide additional storage, ensuring the building can serve the community for generations to come.
